Refrigeration Operator (RO) Certification Course

Formerly known as the 5th Class Power Engineer – Refrigeration Endorsement, this course is now officially recognized as the Refrigeration Operator’s Certificate. You will be prepared to sit the exam for the Inter-provincial certificate of competency approved by Technical Safety BC (TSBC), which was previously known as the British Columbia Safety Authority (BCSA), and it adheres to the Standardization of Power Engineers Exam and Certification (SOPEEC) Syllabus.

This essential course is required for individuals working in diverse facilities such as Ice Arenas, Curling Clubs, Cold Storage Facilities, and Process Plants. Typical enrollees include Maintenance personnel, Zamboni drivers, and Arena Attendants. Holding a Refrigeration Operator’s Certificate of Competency authorizes the individual to oversee and manage any type and size of refrigeration plant, ensuring the highest levels of safety and operational efficiency.

A Refrigeration Operator’s certificate of Competency entitles the holder to be a person in charge of any type and size of refrigeration plant.
